Sunny Verghese, Olam’s Co-Founder, Group Managing Director and CEO, and Chris Brett, Olam’s Head of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability, will participate at this year’s Financial Times Commodities Global Summit 2015 in Lausanne from 20-22 April. Now in its fourth year, the Summit will focus on the challenges facing the commodities industry over two days of keynote speeches and panel discussions with senior executives and industry leaders.

Addressing the audience in the closing keynote, Sunny Verghese will reflect on his experiences with Olam since its birth, 25 years ago. Sunny will describe the company’s growth from a single-product, single-country operation to one of the world’s biggest traders of cocoa, coffee and edible nuts, and will look to the future, examining the forces and challenges that will shape commodities trading and the global agribusiness.

Earlier in the day, Chris Brett will be participating on a panel on sustainability strategy in agriculture. The panellists will discuss whether efforts for sustainable supply chains in industries such as cocoa will offer a way forward for other commodities. The panel, Sustainability: The Strategic Imperative, will be moderated by Emiko Terazono, Commodities Correspondent for the Financial Times. Chris will be joined by fellow expert panellists Nicko Debenham, VP Global Cocoa Sustainability and MD of Biolands Group at Barry Callebaut; Suzanne Larsson, Global Head of Agri Commodities Clients at ABN AMRO; and Lucas Simons, CEO of  SCOPEinsight, NewForesight, and author of Changing the Food Game.
