H.E. Dr. Jakaya Kikwete, President of The United Republic of Tanzania Inaugurates AVIV’s Outgrowers Programme.

On Sunday 19th July 2014, H.E. Dr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, President of the United Republic of Tanzania paid an official visit to AVIV coffee plantation in the Ruvuma region. AVIV is in its third year of committing its green coffee plantation to world class standards and sustainable agricultural practices.
In celebration of Olam’s 25th anniversary, AVIV has launched an Outgrowers Programme which was officially inaugurated by the President. AVIV has pledged to distribute three million plants to 2,000 farmers in 4 different villages, at no cost over a 5 year period. So far, 270 farmers are registered to the programme, with a target of 750 farmers by the end of the year.
