The future of agriculture in South America
Satya Mayilswamy, President & Regional Head of Olam South America, will today be speaking at the first FT Commodities Americas Summit. He will form part of the ‘Leaders in Agriculture’ panel which will discuss the outlook for commodities in this resource-rich region, one that presents many untapped opportunities but also faces challenges in reaching its full potential. Moderated by the FT’s Commodities Correspondent, Emiko Terazono, the panel will debate topics including the trend of food companies consolidating in China and Asia to buy directly from producers in the Americas and other regions as well as wider agricultural themes.
The FT Commodities Americas Summit will be held on the 28th of June 2017 in Buenos Aires. Other members of the panel are Mariano Bosch, Co-Founder and CEO of Adecoagro, the CEO of Cresud Alejandro G Elsztain, the President of Sociedad Rural Argentina Luis Miguel Etchevehere and David Lacroze, the Chairman of Zed S.A.
