Grievance procedures for Olam’s palm operations
Olam is committed to sustainable palm oil production and sourcing. In 2011, Olam published a Sustainable Palm Oil Policy stating our commitment to the RSPO standard, protection of High Conservation Value (HCV) forests and ecosystems, High Carbon Stock (HCS) forests, peatland and improving the livelihood of rural communities.
To reflect the expansion of our palm business into trading, we have updated our 2011 Policy to include a Roadmap to sustainable and traceable third party sourcing. We recognise that feedback and input from stakeholders is valuable because it helps to drive best practices, evaluate compliance of our suppliers and increase transparency in our supply chains.
This Grievance Procedure describes how we handle any grievance from any external parties, including employees, individuals, communities and non-governmental organisations concerning the implementation of our Policy.
For our third party sourcing, note that supplier selection and screening is an ongoing process and suppliers could change over time according to market dynamics.
