Congolaise Industrielle Des Bois (CIB) Confirms Reinstatement Of FSC® Certification For Its Pokola And Kabo Forest Management Units In The Republic Of Congo

Congolaise Industrielle des Bois (CIB), a subsidiary of Olam International, is pleased to announce that the FSC® certificate for its Pokola and Kabo Forest Management Units (FMUs) in the Republic of Congo (Brazzaville) was reinstated on March 30, 2015, following a temporary suspension. CIB is committed to FSC® certification and the rigour it applies through independent third party verification, providing reassurance for customers that wood products have been sustainably sourced.

As CIB’s FSC® certificate for the Loundoungou-Toukoulaka FMU was not affected, this means that today all 1.3 million hectares under CIB management in the Republic of Congo are FSC® certified.

About Congolaise Industrielle des Bois (CIB)

Acquired in 2011, CIB is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Olam International. Under the principles of Sustainable Forest Management CIB operates three large Forest Management Units and one forest production unit in the Sangha and Likoula Provinces of Republic of Congo (Brazzaville).
