Honduras

Olam Honduras was established in December 2006 and started its coffee operations in Honduras in January 2007. From its humble beginning exporting less than 1,200 metric tons of coffee in the first year, Olam Honduras has grown rapidly to become the third largest exporter, handling close to 40,000 metric tons of Arabica coffee.

The operations have also evolved from being only in San Pedro Sula to a fully-fledged primary procurement network with 10 up-country buying units. We currently have a presence in all the principal coffee growing areas of the country with a supplier base of more than 2,300 which includes intermediaries, cooperatives and farmers.

Our processing network consists of one up-country drying station and our principal processing factory located in the city of Villanueva, Cortes. Over the last year, we have increased our participation in the high-quality producing regions, allowing us to emerge as one of the top exporters of specialty coffee from Honduras, offering these products under our own well-recognised brand names.
