Olam first commenced operations in the Australasian region with the acquisition of Queensland Cotton in 2007. Queensland Cotton has been a major supplier of premium since 1921. Today, our Australian business has diversified to include the buying and selling of pulses, grains and wool. The basic supply chain, risk management process and logistics involved are the same for these products as it is for cotton.
In 2009, Olam became Australia’s largest almond grower, acquiring and managing over 30,000 acres of orchards in the Sunraysia area of Victoria. Our processed almonds are sold on both the domestic and international market.
